About Echizen Washi Puzzles
This puzzle is the first in Japan to be made with traditional Echizen washi paper.
To best showcase the beauty of ukiyo-e, the washi paper has been meticulously recreated to have a texture similar to ukiyo-e woodblock prints.
After a year of repeated experimentation, numerous challenges were finally overcome, including "washi selection," "color balance," "color fixation," "print compatibility," and "coating." Particularly noteworthy is the repeated testing of how to utilize the unique texture and fibrous feel of washi while simultaneously showcasing its vibrant colors like a jigsaw puzzle.
Ultimately, a soft touch and the uniquely rich colors that bleed ink into washi were successfully achieved.
Each time you hold it in your hand, you will feel a luxurious texture, as if touching a genuine ukiyo-e woodblock print.
